Can't Copy Me!

EFFECT:
Magician hands four face down cards to a spectator and has four face down cards of his own. He tells the spectator to follow exactly what he does. At the end the spectator has three face down cards and one face up card.

TRICK:
Any eight cards can be used in this trick. The spectator will have four face down cards, while you will have the exact same, with the exception of the bottom card being turned face up. This is the only set up required, the tricky part is to set it up without them catching you. Just give a little distraction, by having them look at their cards.

METHOD:
Begin by turning the top card face up, and placing it on the bottom. Secondly, the next face down card, place that on the bottom. Turn the entire stack of cards over, now you will have a card that is face up. Thirdly, turn that face up card that is on top face down. Lastly, slide the bottom card out, it will be face up, and turn that face down. So there are the four steps. Say that we did the exact same thing and that our cards should be the same. Have you both fan out your cards at the same time. All your cards will be face down, and the spectators cards, three will be face down, with the exception of the last card, and that will be face up. Very simple card trick to do, and very effective.

Mirror Image

SET UP:
Set up the deck alternating red, black, red and black through the whole deck. Do this before your audience arrives. Now you're ready. You also can do any false shuffles you may know that don't disturbed the order of the deck.

EFFECT:
Tell spectator to cut the pack as many times as they want. Have them riffle shuffle it, but only once. You cut the deck between two cards of the same colour. Turn over the top card. If it's red, deal it to your left, face up. If it's black deal it to your right, face up. Deal the next card face down underneath it. Repeat step four, then this step (5) until the deck is gone.

The piles you have are mirror images. The cards underneath the red face pile are black, and the cards underneath the black face pile are red. Reveal this to everyone.

Ace Discovery

SET UP:
Place four Aces on bottom on deck w any five face up above the four Aces.

EFFECT:
Spread deck have spectator choose a card, cut deck and have spectator place card on the bottom packet and place remainder of the cards on top. That will set you up for the trick.

You can false shuffle or do a false cut, but make sure not to expose the turned over five. Spread deck to reveal that their card has secretly turned over, which of course is not their card. Say I didnt say that was your card, and actually that five is telling me that your card is the five card away. You will be counting from right to left, you must spread the deck from left to right in order for the trick to work. Take out the five and count one card by taking it out of the deck, because those four cards that you will be taking are the four Aces. Once you reach the fifth card, turn it over to reveal the spectators card.

Out of My Hands

Have spectator shuffle and cut the deck into three piles. Have sectator choose any stack that they would like. Shuffle the chosen stack, and choose any card in that stack of their choice. Once they have chosen their card, have them place that on the top of their stack. Have the spectator then flip his stack over and place it on top of any of the two remaining stacks. Take the remaining stack and place that on top of the flipped over stack. Then you take the stack and riffle shuffle, make sure that you only use the riffle shuffle. After that you can also do a cut afterwards. Once that is complete flip the entire deck over. Spread the deck and you will see alternating cards, face to back, back to face etc. The spectators card will be at the end of the longest streak of face up cards, you will mostly have a good amount of cards face up so you know where it would be, at the end of the long streak of face up cards will be the spectators chosen card.

SLAP HAPPY

EFFECT: One of six cards is selected from the magician. It is then counted off and placed into the middle of the deck. Spectator tells magician when the pile is large enough, he then holds cards. Magician slaps cards from his hand and only one remaining is the chosen card.

1. Select seven cards from the top of the deck, it does not matter what they are. Spread the card with only six of them showing with the remaining seventh card hidden behind and slightly lower than the others.

2. Have a spectator select a card and replace it into the pack while you still have them spread.

3. After he has done this count from the right what number his card is from the end. Then quickly close the spread and count that number of cards down onto the table.

4. Then place the counted cards into the center of the deck and place the remaining cards on top of the deck. If this is performed correctly then the chosen card will actually be on top of the deck.

5. Begin dealing the cards from the deck onto the table one by one, and allow the spectator to decide when you stop. After he does so pick up the pile on the table and place it between two of his fingers (preferably slightly bent so that he holds the cards at the second knuckle).

6. Tell him to hold on tight. Slap down on the cards several times or until only one card is remaining. The only card he will be holding is the card he previously selected.

CARD BETWEEN THE ACES

EFFECT: The spectator chooses a card and places it face up between the two black aces(face down). These are then returned to the deck and flipped over and the spectator's card has disappeared. The magician looks a bit for the card and then ribbon spreads the deck to find the card between the face up red aces.

METHOD: This trick takes a little preparation and a litte sleight. During the preparation I usaully say that I have to put the aces on the top of the deck. First, put a red ace face up on the bottom of the face-down deck. Then, place the other three aces on top: black ace, red ace, black ace. Now you are ready to begin. Hold the deck face down in a mechanic's grip. Take the first card, a black ace, off the top of the deck like you were executing a double-lift, only don't.

Show the spectator the card, then replace it on the top of the deck like a double lift just occurred. Then lay it on the table face-down and show them that this is indeed the black ace. Then fan cards and let them pick a card. While you have them look at it, execute a little-finger break. Have them place it face up on the first black ace so that half of the back of the ace is showing. Then double lift the two aces and show them the other black ace on the bottom and then replace it on the deck and put the actual top card, the red ace, on top of the outside half of the face up card.

Restate the fact that their card is between the two black aces. While doing so, execute a little finger break on ONLY the top card, the black ace. Then scoop up the cards w/o screwing up the order and set them on top the top card, which has a little finger break. Immediately slide your thumb under the break and turn all four cards over, keeping them well squared. Then, one at a time, take the two black aces off the top and note the their card has disappeared. Discard the two aces. The top of the deck is now their card face-down on a red ace face-up. Now look into the middle of the deck(actually cut the cards, but don't make it too obvious) and say that you don't see it. You have to cut the deck before they try to look at the top card.

Now ribbon spread them and point out the other two red aces and pull out the card between them. The trick is done. I have used this for a long time and many times over on the same people, and it continues to baffle them every time. Even the best of critics don't get all of it.

BULLET HOLE SURPRISE

Effect: Magician has spectator select a card. Card is replaced in deck, and deck back into box. Magician produces a toy pistol, and has spectator "shoot" the deck off his head. Specator's card now has a "bullet hole"

How It's Done: First, you need two cards exactly alike. Say, for example, you take the five of spades from a matching deck, and place it with another. So, now you have a deck with 2 five of spades. You take one of the duplicate cards, and cut a small hole in it. (I like to lightly burn the edges of the hole, but this is optional.) Place the card with the hole in the middle of the deck, and the other five of spades wherever you need it, so that it can be "forced" on the specator. Use any force you like. (I like to place the card on the top of the deck, riffle through the deck with my thumb. Spectator calls stop, and I cut the deck at that point. As I cut the deck in two, I slip off the top card of the deck onto the lower pile, so it looks like I cut to that card. This is called the "riffle force".)

After you force the regular five of spades on the spectator, have him replace it in the deck. Shuffle and cut the deck, being carefull not to expose card with hole. Put the deck back into the box, and produce a toy gun. Have spectator pretend to shoot the deck off your head. Ask him the name of his card. When he says "five of spades", pull out the DUPLICATE card, and show him and audience that it now has a "bullet hole".

SISTERS TRICK

Start by putting one red Queen on top of a regular poker deck, and the other red Queen at the bottom, both face down.

Next, give the two black Queens to a spectator. Start dealing cards off the top of the deck, laying them in a face down pile on the table, until the spectator tells you to stop.

Have the spectator put the first black Queen, face up, onto the pile (opposite to all the cards you have been laying down.) Drop the remainder of the deck in your hand face down onto the black Queen. (So the only card facing up is the black Queen.)

Next, repeat the process above, having the spectator put in the other black Queen, face up, and drop the remainder of the deck on top of the black Queen, again face down. Have the spectator cut the deck, and complete the cut.

Now announce that without any help from you the spectator was able to find the black Queens' sisters. Simply go to the black Queens, take them out, and the cards immediately above each will, of course, be the red Queens.

You have shown the spectator the Sisters Trick.
